Filling the Missing Link

Think about ourselves, we are so imperfect. We are imperfect on attitude, emotions, practices, principles, disciplines, business, LIFE!., etc... It looks like we were born that way. Because of that, we worry, we regret, we feel sad... But, there is nothing wrong to be imperfect. It is our first step to improve ourselves. Let's accept that we are imperfect and take actions and keep trying to fill the missing link.

This is the reason I use the Slogan shown in my company logo.

3 steps here:
1. We accept we are imperfect
2. We keep to take actions even imperfect
3. We keep to "Fill the Missing Link"

This way, we can improve ourselves. Please also refer to my video in You Tube and check my sites:

Your Own Branding

Have you heard the term OEM? This term became famous in bundled OS or Software in sales of PC. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer and means "Outsourcing Branded Products". OEM is widely adopted business practice for Asian companies to get into American or European market.

Your partner uses your products, you can use your partner's well established brand name. It looks great. Right? Yet, there is a problem. If you OEM, you cannot build your own BRAND NAME.

If you do not have your own BRAND NAME, you are out of control of your market. Your partner dectate your activities. This is why many OEM business is gone over night. To survive in the marketplace, you need to build your own BRAND NAME
.
Long time, I thought branding is for big company. But it is not. It might have been true 10 years ago, but you can brand your own using Internet no matter what is your business size. Once your brand is established, your activities are whole lot different. There is an organization who does training of Internet Branding. EDC Diamond. If you are interested in learning more, please contact me or sign up below sebsite.

Supporting Message to Imperfect Action

As Mentioned in my previous articles and profile, despite that I hoped to continue to work in San Francisco, my previous employer sent me back to Tokyo. In past, I hoped to be sent back to New York where I spent younger days, my employer completely ignored my desire. Furthermore, I needed to be worried where I was sent when I was sent, how long. I answered back to my employer that I did not want to go gack to Japan. Then, they decided to release me (dump me) in that very moment.

I struggled to be hired again, but I could not be hired. It was middle of "dot com recession", and the business condition got worse in later part of 2001 after 9/11. I started my own company and came to learn that being emplyed and self-employed are totally different. Being self-employed, You need constant and quick actions. You do not have time to think if it is a mistake or not. Take action. Continue to take actions. Get it going!!!

It was about a month ago, I found this lady advocating "Imperfect action is better than no action." I perfectly agree to her concept. Please watch his base message.

Soon I decided to "Take Action" as said and uploaded the following my message:

Remember ex-employed ladies and gentlemen. "Imperfect Action is Better than No Action".

EDC Diamond Training

I should have happy just to have Pay Button set. But, I was curious enough for further exploring what this EDC Diamond is doing. It sounded interesting.

So, I decided to attend the training. Wow, I was amazed. I was amazed by their passion, detail information, and their enthosiasm to make sure that participants are in the same page and participants all understood what they are talking about.

They are holding trainings almost everyday and almost all of them were recorded and available in their archive. They are usint their techniques themselves. So their information is never be outdated or obsolete. There are trainings on how to use Google, MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, etc, etc...

I firmly believe that you should sign up their "Free Trial" even just for experiencing their trainings. I am sure that you will be amazed like I was.

I will keep talking about them more in depth in several coming articles. But, for the people who hope to jumpstart learning. The followings are main links:

Web-based Service Trend

As I mentioned in my article before, it seems to me that use of internet changes every 2-3 years. about 5 years ago, it was just e-mails I mostly use. Websites were great to get information, but not for use. Then, e-Commerce came into shape of internet business. First not so many people believed in it worked. There were scams and frauds in its operation. People used to say they never know what kind of company you are dealing in e-Commerce.

Later, Web-auction came. People started to use it as a replacement or supplement of their "Garage Sale". People started to love the services which can be provided in internet.

Now people download musics, movies, 60 minutes, from Internet, trying to find least expensive book from the net after they checked in a book shop. My time spent with e-mails were greatly replaced with working time with Internet-based services.

Great service are free now thanks to the competitions. For example, I am writing this blog free. If I wanted to have a blog like this and now own e-mail system attached to my blog and website, it must have costed me a fortune, including major investment for own server.

Still there are large gap between what people want and what Internet-based services can provide. People do not realize it since human beings tend to live with what we could get and more or less being satisfied with them.

Aren't you jailed in your system presumption like this?
Free your mind to fly!!

For example, it was half a year ago, I tried to set click downloading and payment receiving system of the software I carry in my website and/or blog. I inquired several major system builders how much I need to invest to have that kind of capability. I do not mention here who replied but among 5 companies 4 American, 1 Japanese, answered me that I needed to spend more or less 10K$. I could not afford to it. So, I had almost given it up.

Then, this company, last one among 5 I mentioned above, got back with me that I can build this capability with poketful of money of less than 1,000 dollars. It was "EDC Diamond".

I will talk about them more in depth in several coming articles. But, for the people who hope to jumpstart learning. The followings are main links:

Over Curtural Bridge

It was about 3 years ago, I was standing outside of Shenyang Airport, China. Shenyang airport is like San Francisco Airport, departure level is high so that you feel like being on the top of a hill.

What a scale! 180 degree of huge flat land was there. It was the view of continuation of flat land until it ends with the border to the sky. Lower part of my eyes I was seeing the brown and green land. Upper part of my eyes were seeing Blue-Gray Sky, unlimited. Earth, Sky, and I. That were all there are.

With the breath-taking scale of the scenic view, I was talking to myself "Well, I now can understand why and how so many Japanese people wanted to come to China before WWII. (They are called "Bazoku" or "Manshu-zoku" that time.) I feel in the same way as they felt." Matter of the fact was I was nothing different from them.

It was 1996 when my previous employer sent me to San Francisco for stationing. I spinned out in 2001 for staying in US. I travelled to Japan, China, etc... so many times. Every time when I was out of Japan, I felt more comfortable. When I was in Shenyang Airport, I came to realize that it was not why and how, but the way I felt. No reason. Something in me, in my brain, in my system invited me out of Japan where I was borne and raised.

Japanese Gate, San Mateo, CA
But, I do not dislike Japan. I love Japan, and I learned that I love Japan after I started traveling and living in different countries. It was about 6 months ago, I met with this Japanese gentleman who works for TV Station. He and I talked about future of Japanese economy, business, presence in the world.

We agreed on the point that although less people are paying attention to Japan nowadays, its value never diminish nor disappear. Detail craftsmanship and quality consciousness are not lost. Is there any room for Japan to improve? Yes, there are. Maybe self-esteem, now. Japan and Japanese can be a little more proud of themselves (ourselves?). Japan is a beautiful country with kind, friendly, caring people. I wish you can re-visit your thinking about Japan, now. It may be the very time for Japan QC oriented mind to contribute to the world progress.

Internet Evolution

I was trying to remember today what I was doing with my PC 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 15 years ago, 20 years ago, etc...

It was around 1985 (a little more than 20 years ago) I had a discussion with my colleague if we should buy Word Processor or Personal Computer. My opinion was we should go for Word Processor, since the PC was so early stage that one cannot so easily use them. There were not much of software available.

I remember that I bought my first laptop PC in 1992. DOS base PC could run English and Japanese OS. All available were Word Perfect, Lotus Spread Sheet. When I needed to change language, I needed to reboot whole system. I used to enjoy buying software in US, since I was living in Japan that time.

Soon Windows became available and then Internet. It costed me US$1700 to get my PC Internet ready.

It did not take so long Internet became multi-media. Then web 1.0, 2.0, and 2.0...

I am remembering in some period, e-mail was most important for, say, 5 years. And next 5-6 years, web-browsing was more important. Then, e-mail got more powerful. Web-browsing was replaced by Blog-browsing.

People started to talk about Web3.0. What will be the next trend in the Internet Evolution?

Website M&A and globalization

As explained in my foregoing article, Website M&A became an important part of my company business. But, my original business line was "Internationalization". How can we associate Website M&A with the "Internationalization"? The answer was quite simple. *zi* can go between off-shore companies' becoming partners, associates, Joint Ventures, alliances in global view point.

1 year ago, I replaced my old Windows PC with Mac OS X based MacBook and iMac. In addition, I bought 1st generation of iPhone. Despite the fact that I bought them all in California, USA, all the machines are compatible in international languages. All PC's and iPhone are running both Japanese and English. One PC was set for Chinese input system. This is how Apple - Mac was internationalized.

When you write blog, put up website, whatever you write and whatever you put up in your website is already international in their nature. We all should be ready for international business and market.

Please take a moment to visit my company's website for more details:

Website M&A

It was about 2 years ago, my friend invited me to be involved in Merger and Acquisition (M&A) Business. I said "No", first place. I have known M&A to be cruel in side of being bought out. I was involved in selling, buying companies, and forming Joint Ventures in past working experience. In any event, bought company loses identity and many employee chased out or spin out disappointed.

Then, I had an opportunity to learn updated situation on M&A. I learned that these days M&A is different from the days that I knew. Employees MBO (Management Buy Out) to save their own company from lausy management. Small Start up Ventures grow to marge for more services and operations. I finally decided to get myself involved in their M&A scheme.

M&A is nothing new in business world. It has been excercised for more than 100 years. 1980's European companies reformed themselves by using this method. In Reagan Administration, for the purpose of strengthening corporate America, anti-trust laws were modified. Then, there were a lot of M&A's, Buyouts, Takeovers, Hostile Acquisitions, White Nights... The time for Michael Milken, Ivan Bowsky.

Today, M&A plays important roles for Internet Venture Start ups grow in faster speed. It was new in our memory that Google bought out YouTube. I believe accelerating M&A in Internet, PC, Network business world will benefit both business and consumers for better site services.
