5 Management Elements

Management elements change from time to time. Basic Elements, however, have not changed for a long time. Recently, even these basic elements have been affected due to development of Internet communication.

If one has involved in company management, he might have learned that there are 3 important resources of company management. i) People (basically employee, or Human Resources), ii) Products, and iii) Money (Fund, Capitals, Expenses, or Spending)

The resource can look like a triangle. They are interactive each other. It goes without saying the importance of people for business. It is quite self-explanatory model, including money and products. Now these Management Elements are changing to be "5 Management Elements" instead of basic 3.

It appears the importance of these 3 elements has not changed much in Internet age. One can call them classical management elements. They are there in the new model. What are 5 elements, then? Because of the change of communication media, centered on Internet, people's mind, business behavior, available business tools, market elements, or management resources are no longer 3.

One needs to understand the following 5 elements of management and make use of them, in addition to legacy 3 elements. 4th is "Information". 5th is "Branding". Now the elements look like satellite system. Center, like the Sun, is "People". Satellite planets going around the "People" are "Information", "Branding", "Products", and "Money".

Obviously, 5 elements model replaced 3 elements, since no one can ignore the power of "Information", through Internet. Branding is no longer only for a big organization with a lot of money. People can easily band themselves through broadcasting tools in Internet. In this way, the importance of "People Elements", namely Information and Branding, are increasing in management and marketing models. People do not have to spend large amount of money for Information and Branding. The ones who can manage information and brand will win the next game.

Business is a series of action helping others. Still, "People" is always the center of these elements or any other factors in business. This basic is unchangeable. Business or selling is a mechanism or ruled game. Who makes this mechanism moving? Who participates in the game? PEOPLE does. The Idea was that People being the center of the entire operation managing "Information" and "Brand" promote the flow of "Products" and "Money".

The difference, from the traditional 3 elements model, is "People" is not sitting on the top of other elements, but accessing and utilizing all other 4 elements. "People" is not necessarily the master. They are still the center of all the elements. Instead of "People" are equally positioned in legacy 3 elements model, in the new model, "People" is the center and access all other elements. In the period of change, "People" element increases its value and importance, gaining more tools and resources.

Feel the Touch of Japan in San Francisco, Bay Area

Japan Town, San Francisco, is located near center of the city. When one drives on Geary from east approaching Van Ness, one begins to see 5 stories Japanese style Pagoda. There is an office of National Japanese Association on Post Street, if one is interested in learning Japanese American History. There is a lot of Japanese monuments in Japan Town. The symbolic is the tower located in North Center of Japan Town on Post Street. It says "Japan Town" in Japanese.

This tower copies Fire Watching Tower in Japan. In Edo period of Tokugawa Shogun Government, volunteer and professional fire fighters were watching fires from the top of the tower. When they find a fire, ring the bell inside and alarm residents and signal fire fighters depart from the base station.

The most symbolic in Japan Town is the Japanese style 5 stories Pagoda. Pagoda was built to preserve and save Buddha bones after he deceased. This Pagoda is in the Center Square of 2 main buildings in Japan town. The square is a good place for having lunch with your friend in weekdays. The square today was full of young Asian tourists.

There is a wall on the Geary Street side of Japan Town, between main 2 buildings in the area. The wall was quite solemn. There are 2 Chinese Characters engraved on the wall. The Characters, on the wall, mean "Peace" in Japanese. This square is for preserving and recording what happened in the World War II to teach people how war can affect people.

In Japan Town, Street Names are shown both in English and Japanese. Japan Town is the unique place to find the street names are shown in both languages. I cannot believe 2 countries have a history of war in taking a look at this arrangement.

Walking into the one of 2 main buildings, one would not believe that he still is in the US. One feels like walking in some shopping mall in down town Tokyo, such as Shinjuku.

There are lots of Japan related shops, such as Kimono (Japanese Traditional Clothes) Shops, Japanese Traditional Dram Training Place, Japanese Antique Shops, or Japanese Restaurants. Everybody loves Sushi restaurant in Japan Town, San Francisco.

In the US, historically an immigrant's country, it is not so hard to find any ethnicity. Japan is not an exception. The most typical is Japan Town, but even without visiting Japan Town, San Francisco, there are Japan anywhere in Bay Area.

Driving on El Camino Real, which runs across California as a historic drive, one can find an Authentic Japanese Garden, in Central Park San Mateo. The person who designed, built, and maintained is 1st generation Japanese gentleman. His name is Sam. Sam came to US, when he was 10 years old.

After he had changed his job several times, San Mateo County hired him. Until he retired, he was the main person who took care of the Japanese Garden. In winter, he took out all the carps from the pound and changed water. In the spring, he took care of flowers and sharp wood branch tips so that children who play there were not hurt. Even after his official retirement, he goes to his garden and make sure everything is in order. His constant care and effort kept the garden beautiful.

Dogs in Motion Pictures, 10 Promises to My Dog

Pets give us a lot of enjoyment, smiles, laughter, relaxation, refreshment, new meaning of life, and sense of responsibility. Any pet animal is sweet and adorable. Cats are independent and dependent at the same time. In that sense, a cat is low maintenance, but adorable. Dogs are relatively high maintenance. An owner of a dog needs to walk his dog at least twice a day. He needs to take his dog to a dog park some times. His dog barks when he is on a phone. His dog begs for his food when the owner is eating. Despite of high-maintenance feature, people love dogs.

One can find a dog is attractive because he can interact with his dog. A dog responds to its owner almost as it knows how its owner feels. When one feel depressed his dog comes to lick his fingers to cheer him up. When one feels happy, his dog barks, runs, and jumps to show the owner how happy it is. A dog listens its family's conversation. It sometimes looks like giving its owner some advice. It gives him a help one-way or the other.

There were considerable numbers of dog movies. Many of them are good stories. 101 Dalmatians is a classic. Beethoven was very funny. K9 was terrific, too. "Marley and me" is an excellent family movie. There is a Japanese movie, which will make people cry. Its title is "10 promises to my dog". Opening of the film catches one's eyes and ears. It says:

"God created human beings. Next day, God found they are very vulnerable. He decided give them dogs."

The movie released in Japanese Theaters in March 2008. This is about the relationship between a girl who lost her mother and her dog, golden retriever puppy. The girl's mother before she died taught her girl how to build a relationship with her new puppy, "Socks". The following is the list:

1.    Listen patiently to what I have to say.
2.    Trust me, for I am always on your side.
3.    Play with me a lot.
4.    Do not forget that I have feelings too.
5.    Let's never fight, 'Cause someday, I'll be big enough to win.
6.    If I do not obey you, I have a good reason.
7.    You have school, and friends. But as for me, I only have you.
8.    Stay my best friend even when I'm old.
9.    I'll only live about ten years; so let's make every moment count.
10.  I'll never forget our life together. So when my time comes, please be by my side.

They are promises with her dog. All of them, however, are beneficial for human relationship. If the reader is a dog lover, he will love it.

What Is Your Interpretation of the Proverb, A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss

This is a controversial proverb. Generally it means that the people who change their occupations often do not obtain a particular professional skill. The other interpretation is that people who pursue new challenges never get old and dull, but stay young and fresh. We have never known a proverb that has such different interpretations. The Japanese version of this proverb, in its negative form, is same as the English version. Most likely, the Japanese version was translated from the original English. The version with a positive meaning in Japanese is, "When the stream of a river is fast, the water does not go bad."

Hanako was a dreamer. She had many dreams. She wanted to be a window decorator. She hoped to have a job in a Web creation business. Sometimes she thought simply marrying a person whom she loved would not be a bad idea. She graduated from college and started working as a secretary for an executive in an electronics company. She liked her job, but she could not give up her dream of having a creative job. To this end, she attended design school after work.

Hanako had a friend named Minori. She did not consider herself clever. After finishing her study of English literature, Minori continued to study English, and became an English-Japanese translator. Her translation speed was not fast, but she worked with attention to detail and made few mistakes. She did not take more work than she could handle, but for the jobs she did take, her translations were detailed and thorough. She gradually became popular. She began getting offers for jobs in the academic translation field.

As a one of the leading professionals of the age, Minori was interviewed by a TV program. Hanako watched Minori receive VIP treatment in the program and envied her. Hanako had been unable to get a creative job. She had changed her job several times. She found herself lacking professionalism in many things. Well, she thought, if nothing works, I will find a partner and marry him.

Minori did not look very pretty on TV. She was wearing a dark-colored suit like a man would wear. Her suit was dark gray and did not match her shirt. Her hair was not well styled; it was just tied back on her head. Hanako thought herself more attractive than Minori.

Which woman do you find more attractive? The bottom line is that everybody is different and everybody is attractive, as long as they live their lives to the full extent.

Story of Liu Bei and Tsuge Liang

In the first century, three kingdoms were fighting to unify China. The first kingdom, the Wei, was the largest and strongest; the second was the Wu; and the third was the Shu Han. Liu Bei was the first king of the Shu Han, fighting against Cao Cao, the king of the Wei. Liu Bei mostly allied with Sun Quan, the king of the Wu (who was against the large, strong Wei). The Wei controlled a large area in the northern region of China. The Wu were situated in the southwest. Liu Bei was the last to form his own kingdom.

Liu Bei had a problem. Although he had brave and loyal generals, who were his sworn brothers, he did not have a strategist or a statesman to help him command his army and run his country. Liu Bei heard about a young, but capable, man named Tsuge Liang, who was not only a military strategist, but also a visionary theorist on politics. Tsuge Liang had been asked to work for the Wei and the Wu as one of their top strategists. He had not accepted their invitation since he did not agree with their policies.

Bei desperately hoped for Tsuge Liang to join his team. He knew that it would be difficult to persuade Liang accept his offer because Liang would not be moved by political rhetoric; he was not interested in making money. Bei decided to visit Liang alone in person. Liang lived a thousand miles away in the mountains. The winter season saw snow fall that year. Bei traveled to Liang's, only to find he was not home.

He said he would be back and returned to his hotel. On the second day he returned to Liang's house, knowing that he would be out. His intention was to tacitly tell the family how badly Bei wanted Liang. On the third day, Bei met Liang for the first time. Liang agreed to work for Bei.

Tsuge Liang brought Liu Bei victory in several critical battles against Wei. Liang enabled Liu to build his own kingdom and become the first king. He made the country both wealthy and peaceful. When Liu was on his deathbed, he told Liang that he wanted Liang to support his son, but only if Liang believed that his son was capable of becoming the second king. Bei told him that if Liang found his son was not good enough to become the second king, Liang should get rid of his son and become the second king himself. Liang swore that he would dedicate his life to supporting Bei's son. Shu Han continued to be wealthy and prosperous, fighting effectively against two rival countries until the time of Liang's death. The story of Liu Bei and Tsuge Liang gives us profound advice about the importance of selecting, recruiting, and working with a partner.

Sword Smiths, Masamune and Muramasa

There was an extraordinarily talented young pianist. He was a child prodigy. He was 15 years old. He could play piano better than anybody else around him. His skill was so prominent that he could be professional piano player right then. One day he was practicing piano with his teacher. He was playing minor romantic music. His performance was excellent. He did not make any mistake until he finished entire music. The teacher, however, was frowning. She told the boy that his she felt something missing though his skill was perfect. After the teacher had thought a while, she told the boy that stop practicing piano for a month or so. She asked the boy to find a girl friend and experience love. When the boy came back to his teacher, his performance was better than perfect and moved so many people listening.

Empathy is the one the boy needed most. Not be just limited to the world of music, the same can be found in mind training of Zen or Martial Arts. Mind training is essential. If it is without purpose of use, however, knowledge will be just a sequence of memory in our brain existing in chronological order. If we try to show knowledge without purpose, we are just showing-off. Fighting skills in Martial Arts, without mind training for proper use, are nothing different from keeping a loaded gun without safety catch on in your pocket. It will harm others and oneself, soon or later.

This is an old story of 2 sword smiths in 16th Century Japan. One is Masamune, and the other is Muramasa. Masamune built his swards only by orders. He studied customers and did not accept orders from violent people or assassins. He liked his work, but he did not like his swords to be just killing tool. His work always started, in the morning, with prayers and meditations. He always prayed God to help him to build swords, which can help people, not kill people.

Muramasa was different. He always emphasized on his talent. He could never be satisfied with his skills. He always brushed up his skills. He continued to think and make swords, which are sharp to cut almost anything. He believed swords are killing equipment after all. The sharper swords the better for him. He was trying to build swords, which can cut off bones, woods, stones, and even steels. He did not pray for God. He did not believe in any spirituality.

One day, a local king who was also a martial arts master, compared swords from these 2 sword smiths. This master held a sword putting the cutting edge up, asked his assistance to drop a paper on the edge. When he tried Muramasa first, the sword cut the paper, dropped on the sword, in half. It appeared that the paper did not even touch the edge. It was sharp. He tried Masamune next. Dropped paper landed on the cutting edge sitting there still. When this master prayed in his mind, putting his spirit into the sword, to cut the paper, without moving his arms, the sword cut the paper in half and the cut paper fell to the ground.

Today, people respect Masamune as a holly craftsman. Tokugawa Shoguns loved his swords, and kept them as their protecting spirit. Many swords smiths or craftsmen worship him and use him for their protection to be successful craftsmen. His successors inherited his name for more than 200 years. His name represents Japanese sword even in modern Japan.

On the other hand, swords by Muramasa killed several rulers in 16th and 17th centuries. They believed swords by Muramasa as cursed, haunted, and despised. Tokugawa Shogun hated Muramasa as their enemy weapon. The history shows that his swords killed both Tokugawa family people and their enemies. There are 2 swords are kept in museums, but most of Muramasa disappeared in the darkness of Japanese history. People remember Muramasa cursed and haunted. He still carries eerie title, Spooky Muramasa.

Legend of California Gold Rush

All the states in US have nicknames. New York is Empire State. New Jersey is Garden State. California is Golden State. Its nickname came from the California Gold Rush in the history of US. California Gold Rush started on January 24, 1848, when a carpenter and sawmill operator, James Wilson Marshall (October 8, 1810 - August 10, 1885) discovered gold in Sutter's Mill in California. This discovery triggered more than three hundred thousand people in and out of United States of America rushed to Northern California. It set the nickname of California to be Golden State. Because the number of miners came to California reached its peak period in 1849, all minors were called "Forty-Niners". Later it became the name of San Francisco Football team.

It is about three hours drive to visit the original area of California Gold Rush. One can use Interstate 580 East, Interstate 205 East, Interstate 5 North, Route 99, and Route 88 to reach Sutter Creek. Just right before driving into the mining area, visitor can get a rest in downtown of Sutter Creek. California Gold Rush created people's movement to the West Coast and formed a period of Wild West. The downtown of Sutter Creek keeps appearance of days of gunmen.

Fifteen minutes drive takes him to the entrance of Gold Mines. The Mine is now only for sightseeing purpose. They are not digging gold any more. There are no flashy signs or Las Vegas style neon signs. However, since it is original entrance, a visitor should respect it as the testimony of the history. The gate shows "Mine Tour", but the entrance is small and old. The visitor should be careful not to overlook the entrance to the parking, since there are no direction signs to which the driver can refer.

The tour provides visitors a tram tour to the deep area of the mine. The inside of mine is lighted, but some parts are dim to be almost dark. There are area brightly lighted and have wax dolls showing days minors were working. Entering into the cave, the first thing one will see is a bird in a cage. Now in the Mine Tour, the person and the bird are imitation of wax dolls. It shows that they kept a bird to know when gas is spreading in the mine. The poor bird is the one first die to let minors know there is a danger of gas.

Although minors inside are wax dolls, they exhibit real machine tools and hardware. Many of them look heavy and awkward. Inside of the gold mine looks complicated structure. A visitor finds a deep straight down-hole after long gentle down slope continues for a distance. It shows that they did not have a specific plan of digging. They dug in the way the gold vein guided miners.

A guide tells the authority is estimating still two hundred million ounce gold lies underground. Now the visitor must answer the last question of the tour guide if he hopes to be a minor.

Do You Like Crabs? San Francisco Restaurant Review

We took Friday off this weekend. It was a family celebration day. We wanted to have something notable, because it was 3-day-weekend. As any other weekends, we went to 24 hour fitness for exercise in the morning. We took a 2 classes of exercise in our fitness club, Boot Camp and Dance for 2 hours, sweat some. We came home from exercise, took shower, relaxed, then call the restaurant for reservation.

This restaurant is "Tanh Long", in Sunset, San Francisco. We have known this restaurant famous for Crabs. Since we both love crabs, we decided to go to this restaurant.

"Tanh Long" is the sister restaurant of a restaurant in downtown San Francisco, "Crustacean". "Crustacean" is high-class, business setting, and relatively expensive restaurant. My office colleagues took us to "Crustacean". The master chef of Crustacean told us about the sister restaurant "Tanh Long", which is more family oriented type restaurant with almost same menu as Crustacean.

Their recommendation is same as ours, which is "Garlic Roasted Whole Crab". They have a different style of crab cooking from what San Franciscans are familiar with. Crabs were simply boiled in seawater in Fisherman's Wharf restaurants. This restaurant roasts whole crab with lots of garlic and oils.

It is so different and tastes superb. That is why people keep coming despite it was highest priced item on the menu. The location of this restaurant is on the corner between Judah and 47th street, downtown San Francisco. Outside does not appear to be an excellent restaurant, but inside is elegant and clean. This was original restaurant of these 2 successful sister restaurants in San Francisco, opened by a Vietnamese Gentleman. My memory of dining in Vietnam does not tell me anything similar served in Vietnam. It may be Vietnamese food made in San Francisco. Benihana style BBQ is not exactly made in Japan, made in New York, instead.

"Roast Crab", "Tiger Prawn", and "Garlic Noodle" were our selection on that day. Eating this crab, or any crab, you cannot do anything other than keep eating until you finish the crab, since your hands and fingers will be full of oil, garlic, meats, and shells. You cannot even pick up silvers or wine glasses. We spend there for two and half hours. It was long dinner, with not so much conversation. We do not need much conversation for enjoying delicious foods. Japanese sales people suggest that you would select a crab restaurant if you need to dine with a difficult customer. Your difficult customer will be quiet during dinner, because he was busy eating the crab. How true it is!

"Thanh Long" restaurant is located on the corner of Judah and 47th Street. "Crustacean" location is Polk and California. You can search them in Internet by their names and location; "Thanh Long, San Francisco" and "Crestacean, San Francisco".

Have a Crab Lunch in Fisherman's Wharf

San Francisco is famous for seafood. Although it is not so easy to satisfy Japanese taste, which is not so easy to please on seafood, none of my Japanese friends has complained on seafood in Bay Area. Sushi is delicious, while Sashimi materials are always fresh. Some commented that seafood in San Francisco would have been better than those in Japan.

People love San Francisco. They love this city for several reasons. The city is truly romantic place. Variety of ethnicity is making city activities unusually colorful. New to Bay Area does not have to feel lonesome because he would find his ethnicity for sure here. There are several unique types of scenery in Bay Area including the world famous Golden Gate Bridge. Night view of the city is as impeachable as New York City.

Another reason to love San Francisco is its foods. As so much ethnicity is here, so as a variety of foods. It goes without saying about Chinese, there are so many others, such as Thai, Japanese, Micronesian, Italian, French... List goes on and on. They all are authentic and fantastic. Chinese food in Bay Area is superb. So is Japanese. Although my personal favor is New York Italian, Italian here is as delicious as New York or Chicago.

We cannot forget American Food. Hamburgers, Hot dogs, Pizza, and everything you want are available. Any seafood is delicious, but especially San Francisco style seafood is my recommendation. If you stay in a hotel, in Union Square, you could use Cable Car to go to Fisherman's Wharf. I have never seen this place is not crowded. It appears that there are visitors from the world here, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.

There are lots of out-door eating-stand style restaurants of Dungeness Crabs and Seafood's in Fisherman's Wharf. My suggestion is Salt Water Boiled Dungeness Crab and Clam Chowder Soup local Sour Dough. These are menu, which you cannot find anywhere else. You will love Clam Chowder Soup in Sour Dough Lunch set. This is our favorite. My wife is going to be terribly angry if I finish Clam Chowder Soup during she is just attacking her crab.

Again, Bay Area is extremely romantic place with lots of histories, scenery, natures, oceans, and mountains. This city is unique in ethnic delicacies, too. The city is the best place to enjoy Chinese foods. At the same time, Italian restaurants here are fabulous. Japanese Sushi is compatible with those in Tokyo or New York. Seafood, centered on Dungeness Crab, is of the best in the world.

Beijing Buffet

The variety of foods that can be enjoyed in San Francisco is remarkably broad: Italian, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Indonesian, and Vietnamese. However, I cannot list them all. Even compared to New York City, San Francisco's variety of food does not lose its excellence.

In addition, the cost for enjoying these fabulous foods is amazingly reasonable. I consider buffet-style restaurants to be the most cost-effective. About two years ago, we found an extremely good Asian cuisine buffet restaurant, the Beijing Buffet, close to the San Francisco Airport. I referred to several rating sites before writing this article, and the ratings varied from person to person. However, the general rating was average. My own experience at this restaurant has been good, and my wife and mother-in-law love it as well. Because my wife is a Chinese American who was born in China, her sense of taste for authentic Chinese foods is trustworthy.

My wife and I like this place because of the size of the buffet and the variety of foods offered. There are five large buffet tables that keep the food warm. Along the right wall of the square restaurant is the counter for sushi, sashimi, shrimp, crab, and fresh seafood. The other counter carries both warm and cold Asian and European deserts. At the end of the desert counter, there are ice cream self-dispensers that offer the following flavors: vanilla, chocolate, or a mixture of both.

Each buffet table has its own food categories:
1) warm vegetables and cold salads,
2) fish and seafood,
3) Chinese and American-style poultry,
4) fried rice, noodles, and rice soup, and
5) steamed, fried, or boiled pot stickers and Chinese-style meat buns.

Some restaurants offer a regular menu in addition to a buffet. Beijing Buffet does not have regular menu. However, a BBQ counter is a part of the buffet service offered by this restaurant. They have a buffet menu for both lunch and dinner. My wife is not very excited about BBQ, but I love it. It is like ordering an omelet to your taste during breakfast at a hotel. The buffet includes choices of beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, fish, vegetables, tomatoes, bean sprouts, and more. Although some buffet-style restaurants do not have lobsters or crabs at lunch, this place offers all types of foods for both lunch and dinner.

You also can ask the chef to make your dish spicier, sweeter, or saltier. Mr. Choi, who works in the BBQ section, became my friend because he thinks that I request more choices in my food than other people. If you like grilled fish or jumbo shrimp, you can ask to have it skewered. If you want to eat Chinese buns, which are called pao, Mr. Choi can grill them for you. He makes pao with only pork, pork and vegetable pao, and pao with only vegetables, or sweet pao.

Finally, you can order Chinese egg noodles grilled with your choice of meat, seafood, vegetables, or a combination of these options. You can also choose thick egg noodles, thin egg noodles, or rice noodles.

Importance of Being Determined

There are several factors to be happy in our lives and successful in business. Stability of mind is one of them. Sense of balance is another one. Strength of mind is essential factor as well. There are several movies even not serious ones, which talks about how mentality affects our lives and business. I watched Karate Kid several times. Not only because I practice Karate, but also because there are several elements that the movie can convey. Importance of Determination is one of them clearly shown in this movie in my opinion.

Going to details of the movie will be avoided other than related parts. The boy, Daniel, was sensitive type high school kid. Other strong and big guys looked down on him and punching, kicking, tossing him around. He did not like it. But he could not help accepting them because he knew that he could not fight against them. He visited Karate Dojo, but he could not join the school. He could not have enough courage.

It is not my main point of this article, many Karate masters who I know were like him when their school days. They did not like themselves being fooled by others due to the weakness, smallness, shortness, and they hated themselves to be coward. That is why they determined to practice Karate, train themselves, and being strong. Their motivation was first to effectively fight against those who fooled them. But later they change their purposes to defend themselves and family as Karate spirits gradually melt into their brain and spine.

Let us go back to the boy. One night, he was surrounded by these big guys and beaten up to the extent that he could be hospitalized. Master Miyagi appeared and defeated all big boys and saved the boy, Daniel. Mr. Miyagi is not big guy and he looked like just an ordinary old person. Daniel was impressed by Master Miyagi and asked him to teach Karate.

Mr. Miyagi was reluctant firstly. Karate is not for fighting back. It is only for defense. Finally Master Miyagi accepted his desire and told the boy that he will teach Daniel Karate. Here is the scene. Next morning Master Miyagi asks Daniel if he is ready. He answered, "Maybe". Master Miyagi told the boy it is wrong answer. He continues that he is safe if he walks on the right side of a road. He is safe If he walks left side of the road. But he will be soon or later run over by a car if he wonders around in the middle of the road (without deciding right or left). Master Miyagi further continues, "If you do not do Karate, you are safe. If you do Karate, OK. But if you do Karate, may be, it is like walking the middle of the road. Soon or later you will be run over and killed.

I was impressed by this lesson. Is there any thing we do not do with absolute determination in our lives? Is not it the reason why we do not succeed doing it?
