3 Points for Successful Internet Business Using Web Traffic Tools

Internet had changed the value of information. It changed the method how people gain access to the information they need. Academic Debaters in 1970's, used to keep newspapers piled up, and strive to turn to them whole day, to get the information they need. They also used to go to public library to get information from the books they could not get from a bookshop. They spent hours, days, and weeks in the library of their college.

Bloggers today, instead, can obtain necessary information to write their articles by inputting keywords in several strokes on their keyboard and a click. Their information is a click away literally. As obtaining information became easier than never before, did the value of information diminished? The fact is that value of information increased more than before. It is because access to information became key to be successful in anything one does using network and computer. It is especially true in case of business. In addition to many online business opportunities, people introduced and implemented a lot of promotion techniques and methods. They include SEO, SNS, AdSense, AdWords, Blog Marketing, Keyword Marketing, Article Marketing, Bulk mail Marketing, Web Traffic Promotion and so on.
Most of these techniques are real and effective, though some may tell otherwise.

The most noteworthy thing here is to realize that online marketing, or Internet business opportunity, or whatever one calls, it is a form of business. Since it is a form of business, it follows business rules and common practices. There must be products and services which customers want. Such products and services must be real and bring benefit users. Customers must be noticed how and where they can get such products and services. An Internet business merchant must have online marketing strategy. He needs continuous advertisement of his products and services so that they can maintain their presence in the market place. It is nothing so much different from opening glossary market in the city of San Francisco. Only difference is this takes place in the street called Internet.

Now that, the shop is open, let us talk about how the merchant promotes his business and his shop. The merchant can decorate his shop. He may set up big signboard showing his business name and products. He may advertise in Yellow Pages and leading newspapers. Why does he do these? He wanted many people come in to his shop. The more people visit his shop, the possibility of people buying from his shop increases. This is the process Internet Business people call "Web Traffic".

Like the above example of glossary shop, the more people visit your website, the website has more possibility of sales. The sole purpose for all those exotic sounded techniques of Internet Marketing, such as SEO, SNS, AdSense, and so on, is to get more visitors to your website. Since we all now understood the importance of Web Traffic, let us summarize steps for Internet Marketing process here:

1. Build your website. Build it as creative as possible. Create it as attractive as possible to your satisfaction.

2. Plan and implement Web Traffic strategy. There are many Web Traffic Solution services. Using them can be a part of the strategy.

3. If problem deciding the one, ask for professional help.

Please keep in mind that the expensive approach is not necessarily good one. There are some free or inexpensive Web Traffic solutions, which works.  If you do not have anyone who can help you, please click the below and contact me.  I will help you.

Are the Japanese Double-Faced?

When one lives overseas for a long time, he experiences what he would not, otherwise. In first several weeks, he would be busy adjusting himself to the new environment. After a while, he starts to think about his home country. If he is an ex-patriot from Japan, he starts to be aware about Japan, maybe for the first time in his life. He could suffer from home sick around this time. As time goes by, in my experience, a Japanese like me started to realize that how he was ignorant about his own country. He would surprise to learn how well his American Friends know about Japan. He might have regretted that he should have studied about Japan more seriously than he did.

He will also learn that he was wrong on his   presumption how the people in the world view Japan. A Japanese tends to believe that people in the world are knowledgeable about Japan. They respect Japan and Japanese, as the country with courtesy, politeness, neatness, long-term visionary. It might have been true once upon a time. After so many years in foreign countries, non-Japanese are well aware of the truth and reality about Japanese and Japan, now.

This is an article based on an experience of an Asian woman who once was working in Japan. She could speak English, Japanese, and her own language. She was so talented that she could work in a Japanese IT related company as an executive secretary. She worked primarily with the president of this company. The president liked her skilled in business. He invited her to attend his meeting with customers and visitors.

What surprised her was that this president, despite that he is polite and courteous to the visitor during the meeting, while the visitor is with them, says so terrible about the visitor after the visitor left. This president says nastily about the visitor to her or his employees usually. She remembered he said about the visitor such as "This person visits us whenever we were busy." "His conversation goes on forever. It never ends. It is too long. He should have gone three hours ago." In this case, the visitor came two hours before. He meant that the visitor should not have come at all. "He has never come with useful deals." Since she was the one who arranged the meetings, she felt that her president was blaming her. She, as a non-Japanese, thought that he should not have accepted the visit from the beginning, if the president did not like the visitor come.

For this lady, if the president were "busy", he should not have scheduled the meeting. If he felt the meeting was too long, he should have told the visitor and end the meeting. If he believed that the visitor's deal was not of the company's interest, he should have told so directly to the visitor during the meeting. The president did not do any of the above. He finished meetings, smiled to the visitor and sent him to the elevator. Then, he started to complain about the visitor and the meeting. She could not believe that at all. Any of these did not make sense for her.

According to this lady, her president did not have any single case that he did not speak badly about the visitor after he or she had gone, his case might be unusually extreme. Japanese have this tendency, still. A Japanese growing up might have heard his mother, politely showed gratitude to the visitor who brought a souvenir, after the visitor left, complained about the visitor and souvenir. I heard my mother said "She should have learned that our family do not like anything sweet by now." It is the miss-communication by "Hon-Ne (True Feeling)" and Tate-Mae (Words in Public)". It is the crucial part of Japanese culture that showing "Hon-Ne" in public is not polite. This cultural behavior has built for a long time in Japanese history. It is not good or bad. It is a fact. When they are discussing the critical point of a business, Japanese business people agree to negotiate in "Hon-Ne", to avoid misunderstanding. They say: "Hon-Ne Only talk and deal, okay?" Then they ignore politeness or courteousness and go directly to the point. They have a hard time to deal with this cultural issue some times.

There are a lot of Japanese who deals with all cards open on the table from the beginning. It may be useful, however, that non-Japanese should be aware that Japanese may use "Hon-Ne" and "Tate-Mae" from their cultural background. In that way, one may be able to comprehend the true meaning and feeling of what they say. They might not have meant what they have said.

The Dog Park in San Mateo, CA

When in Japan, I have never paid my attention to "Dog Park", or any pet amusement.  It is simply because I did not keep any dog.  I once kept a cat.  The cat was, however, more or less my ex-wife's and the cat had never been close to me.  I just ignored it.  My ex-wife would not have liked it, but I did not care.

It was since we started to keep our girl dog, "Xuer", when my wife and I started to be interested in "Dog Park".  Our dog's trainers and instructors in our dog schools helped us to find a good one.  Also, the people, who we come across in walking Xuer, helped for us to gather information.

We have 5 dog parks in the Peninsula and East Bay including the one in San Mateo.  The dog park in San Mateo is the one our girl "Xuer" likes best.  It is very good dog park for the dog owners.  Let me show you the pictures, I took.

This is the largest dog park in the area as long as we know.

This is the other side of the same park.  I hope you can imagine how big it is.

There is no playground staff for dogs to play.  The space is the largest advantage of this park.  You do not need to worry the ball you threw fly out of the park.

We also like this dog park because of its location.  This park is just on San Francisco Bay, West Side.  There is a trail for dog owners to walk their dogs.  The scenery from the trail is beautiful.  From the top of the hill on the trail, you can view both San Francisco Bay and Foster City and San Mateo city view.

Was He Blessed Losing His Arm in the War?

"Shigeru Mizuki" is a comic writer popular in Japan. He has contributed to preserving Japanese folklore mostly deals with supernatural activities, such as ghost stories, monster stories, weird stories, which are unexplainable in a logical way. He received numerous awards as a cartoon author contributing to protect Japanese local folklore, which we might have lost otherwise. Shigeru Mizuki, born in 1922, experienced World War II as a private soldier. He lost his left arm in the war. He later told people what he experienced in the war. He, in the war as Private Mizuki, was in the squadron, which perished in the fight against enemy.

In the fight, one day, his commander sent him to the front to observe and report enemy's movement. Being close to his enemy's front line, unfortunately, the enemy found him. As the enemy shooting him, he ran. He ran for his life. He jumped into a river and lost his weapons and ammunitions. He climbed a cliff coming out of river water, he found there were his enemy searching him. Hanging in the middle of the cliff, he wanted his enemy moved away from the cliff side. He thought he would be either found and shot or fall as he lost power in his arms.

Miraculously, his enemy did not find him. Unfortunately, again, he totally lost his sense of position because he ran around to escape from his enemy. He needed to wonder around inside of deep jungle almost all night. His clothes were all wet from the river swimming. He took off his wet clothes. Mosquitoes started to attack him. He later explains that, right after that night for weeks, there was no flat surface in his upper body.

He finally found the location of his squadron and found all the squadron was killed and perished. He was the only one who survived. Mizuki spent another day to reach the local military base. The base did not appreciate him. The base commanders believe him to be a coward running away from the enemy. The commanders ordered him to fight to death, in the next fight, at the top front line, against the enemy. They ordered him to die in the next fight.

It was that night he started to suffer from extremely high fever. He caught malaria due to the mosquito bites in the previous night. The base commanders could not keep him. They sent him to a local hospital for his recovery, accepting army surgeon's recommendation. After few weeks later, the enemy attacked this site, and there was no survivor from the fight.

During he was in the hospital, the enemy attack got more intense and bombed his hospital, since the hospital location was inside of Japanese Army base that time. Still suffering from high fever, he could not move, and one bomb exploded close to him. It did not take his life, but he lost his left arm from the bombing on that day.

Because he lost his left arm, the army decided to move him to a hospital, located further behind the fighting front, with better equipment and doctors. His enemy destroyed his hospital by bombing, and could not be used any more. Still he was in the part of battlefield, he was pretty much safe now. After several days passed in his new hospital, he heard that there was another violent attack to his squadron left no survivor. He was still in the hospital, when he heard that Japan surrendered unconditionally, and the war is over. He remembers that he had complicated feeling and emotion thinking about his friends died, but still be happy to be able to come home to Japan. I think it was a genuine feeling of Japanese soldiers at that time.

Later, he came home to Japan, moved to Tokyo, married, and became famous as a cartoon author. His wife was telling her friends that his family never thought about the fact that he does not have his left arm. When his daughter was 10, she asked innocently why her Dad did not have his left arm. He smiled, patted her daughter's head, answered back. "Honey, I could survive my war all thanks to my left arm I lost."

His wife does not have any unpleasant memory or experience, all because he does not have his left arm. Instead, she remembers he told her that he was lucky loosing his arm to survive when he thinks about his friends who died in the war.

It was 2009, he completed his masterwork cartoon, "Everybody must fight to death", based on his own experience in the war. He received an extraordinary prize for history preservation effort. The work vividly describes the truth about cruelty, craziness, and misery of World War II, Japanese Army, and any war.

Does it not exist because it is invisible and insensible?

His father was not a human being.  His father was from the world after death.  His mother was a human being.  After his mother had given birth to him, she died from complication.  Nobody knew how they met, how their love romance was, and how they reached this vacant house where his mother gave birth to him.  The newborn baby’s name was “Kitaro”.  It means Monster Taro or Half-human Taro.

The above described a beginning part of “Ge Ge Ge No Kitaro”, popular cartoon of “Shigeru Mizuki”.  “Shigeru Mizuki” was the author who gave birth to this half-cute and half-mysterious monster boy who carried spirits of his father advocating that monsters and human beings were friends and could coexist.  “Kitaro”, protecting people, fought against monsters which tried to harm people and destroy human society.
The cartoon, “Ge Ge Ge No Kitaro” was not immediate success, but it gradually became popular among Japanese people who were thirsty on Japanese original stories and selected to be one of the most popular cartoon in 1960’s and 70’s.  “Ge Ge Ge No Kitaro” introduced many monsters and ancient legends which Japanese boys and girls were not so much exposed at that time.  They learned a lot on Japanese old fairly tale folklore stories from “Shigeru Mizuki” stories.  I remember I learned names and figures of Japanese original monsters eagerly.

“Shigeru Mizuki”, born in 1922, became popular as a cartoon author of Japanese Monster Cartoon in 1965.  He struggled between westernizing process of Japanese culture and traditional Japanese folklore, but he succeeded in maintaining good old Japan in his stories.  His works received many awards.  He received several medals for cultural contribution several times in his artistic activities.

Japanese TV is now broadcasting his autography in every morning and every night.  It is a TV program, so there may be amplification and imaginary part, but interesting was how “Shigeru Mizuki” views the world we all live.

In its program, his daughter, 10 years old at that time, had her friends teasing and fooling her saying that her father writes cartoons on the monsters supernatural beings, which do not exist.  She took it too serious and asked her father if he wrote cartoons, knowing all the monsters do not exist.  Her father answered her back in a calm and a nice way.

“My daughter, it is not correct to conclude that something is not existing only because one cannot see or touch.  There are lots of things that exist though they cannot be seen or touch.”  He continued “I have had many experiences in the war supernatural phenomenon, such as entire squadron could not go through some location without any reason.”  He explained to his young girl that he found there were supernatural activities in that area.  He added that one might not see or touch these supernatural beings.  One might still perceive them.  One may hear them.  One may feel smell them.  One may experience temperature changes.  Whenever these things happen, supernatural being is near.  His daughter shivered.  She said “Oh Dad, do not scare me.  It is getting dark here.  I am scared.”  “Oh my little girl”, he said, “if you do not believe in supernatural beings, why you are afraid?  It is a proof that you believe in these existences.”  His daughter smiled and said “Dad, I think you are right.”

I do not intend to display any opinion here.  I do not mean to make readers to accept my opinion either.  We all know there are things that we once believed not to exist, later scientifically explained.  We know there are things that have not been explained in science, logic, or reasons.  We also need to remember that these supernatural beings are giving hope, courage, and dream to our childhood like the daughter of this cartoon author, “Shigeru Mizuki”.

Raw Video: Calif. Homes on Fire After Explosion

On September 9, 2010, approximately 6:15 pm, a massive fire is roaring through a mostly residential neighborhood in the San Francisco suburb of San Bruno after reports of a large explosion.  San Bruno is the city close to San Francisco Airport.  The explosion site is west of San Francisco Airport, South of San Francisco City Area.

People first thought it was an earthquake or airplane crash.  Later sources announced that it was a gas explosion.  It was neither earthquake or airplane crash.  The cause of the accident is not yet known.  Sources says that at least 4 died, 38 houses destroyed, 7 damaged.

The following is the Raw Video: Calif. Homes on Fire After Explosion.

I have several friends live nearby the explosion site.  Quite fortunately, I found that there was no damage in our friends.

I was driving on US 92, Highway right after the explosion, west bound.  My wife was next to me.  She noticed fire on the Pacific coast side mountains direction.  The fire must have been very big, since we could observe it driving the highway.

The image right was up in my friend site.  It is the closest to the scene we observed in driving the highway US 92.

What Happned in American Economy and Housing?

Although news media talked about depression since 1930's this time, the economy did not go that awful partly thanks to business bail out program as well as new house tax program.  In early 2010, economy was showing slight sign of recovery, even.  This summer, however, observes slight slowing down movement of the recovery process.  Media reported bad news such as trade deficit, stagnated employment promotion, durable goods sales down, and so on.   Especially housing market has down shift after ending of tax refund program for a new house and second house.  Sales of the new house were 12.4% (276,000 houses) against the previous month in July, worst in record since 1963, according to the sources.  It is particularly bad to feel the economy situation is not good in this place,  where we live.  In the block of our house, there are 2 foreclosures and 1 short sell in past 6 months.

This picture left is the next-door neighbor.  Again it was so sad and upsetting see this family had disappeared almost overnight.  I used to talk with their grand mother on the street.  We saw their kids playing skateboard in their front yard.  The owner family some times invited their friends and had small parties.  Now all of them had disappeared.

This is the picture of a house, which located on the other corner of our home.  It has been vacant for 3-4 months ago.  This family had 2 small dogs, who used to come out and play with our dog, when we walk our dog.  We greeted each other and used to have a short talk in front of their home or our home.

The last picture is the one taken quite recently.  The family still lives there, but the house is in short sell by a bank.  They held BBQ style lunch and dinner so often, and we heard their playing music  when they had BBQ party.  Now, they have not done any BBQ party anymore.   The house and family are totally quiet.

It looks like the economy is not recovering.  Instead, there are lots of people who are suffering from the past wounds of business activities.  It does hurt not only the one, who suffered foreclosures or financial difficulties, but also the ones who are close to them.

I hope we see real recovery of the economy very soon.  What will be the locomotive to bring the economy up again?  Will it be medical or bio engineering?

Feel the Natures Heeling Power - 2

In my previous post, I talked about Nature's Healing Power.  In addition to the flowers, animals, pets give us some power when you and down.  There is a time when we are glad that we kept our pets.  Our girl, Japanese Spitz dog, Xuer came to our home February, 2009.  I introduced her several times in this blog.  She is the one who got us this house.  Her Japanese name is "Yukiko".  She has an English name, as well.  It is "Snowy".  Unfortunately, however, she does not respond to her either English name or Japanese name any more.  So, we need to tell American friends her name is "Xuer".  We are definitely glad to have her.

Let me post the history of her growth here one more time, here.  The picture left is the one taken on the 1st day when she came to our home.
This is the picture taken about 1 year and 3 months ago.  Xuer enjoying her home, which she brought us.  Instead of her attractive appearance, she is shy and growl to the people come near to her.  She is very good at scaring young kids who come close to her off-guard.  Despite all these her behavior, she is friendly to my wife, my wife's mother, and I.  That is another reason we love her.

The last picture is the one taken quite recently.  She looks relaxed and happy with us.  Who said there is no emotion with animals.  She clearly shows her emotion on her face and reaction.

Even If You Should, What If You Cannot?

Have not you had an experience that your boss asked you almost physically impossible business request. It is not "Mission Impossible" or "Challenge". It is more or less "unreasonable business request". It is like your boss asks you to have a trip to New York, at the same time attend the meeting in San Francisco. If you do not have an unreasonable boss, you are lucky.

They were not that much unreasonable like the above, but I have come across lots of unreasonable business requests from my management. 7:30 Thursday evening, my boss came to me and asked my team to finish 50 pages of business summary by Friday morning. Here is another example. My boss kept calling me every day to my hotel, when I had a business trip to overseas for about a month. Call came in 4:00 in the morning. He asked me to turn in a daily report. He checked they were ready waking me up 4:00Am in the morning, when my average of sleeping was less than 4 hours.

Was it just a lousy luck for me to have these kinds of bosses? Bosses make this kind of unreasonable request to their people. It is supervisors' function to check if it is impossible. The reality is you do not like this kind of test. You are too busy on this. You could be killed if you sincerely keep obeying these kinds of requests. In several years, you develop your rule. Whenever your boss asks you to exist both in New York and San Francisco at the same time. You answer, "Hey boss, even I should, if I can not, I simply can not."

You may keep carrying this principle as long as you keep your job. In a real office environment, you may not directly say this to your boss in the way above, but more or less you need to protect yourself, your people, and your family this way.

I carried this principle for more than 20 years of working for my former employer. It has worked for protecting my people, my family, and me. It was 10 years ago when I became independent. Being self-employed, I needed to change my opinion.

First of all, "should" or "can" would be depending all on how you define the action. There were lots of entrepreneurs who could have changed impossible possible and became successful.

Secondly, whenever you started to think it was impossible, your thinking stuck there and would not move ahead for making it possible. It might not have been impossible. Your brain made it impossible.

Finally, when you have 2 or more choices, the choice you are pushing out might have been the better choice than the one you are choosing. You will never know until you try it.

Now, my opinion is that we can think if there is any way to make the impossible possible. If you cannot do 2 things at the same time for physical limitation such as time or distance, you should think to try both for sequence or different time so that you would not lose the chance to judge both.
