Internet Evolution

I was trying to remember today what I was doing with my PC 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 15 years ago, 20 years ago, etc...

It was around 1985 (a little more than 20 years ago) I had a discussion with my colleague if we should buy Word Processor or Personal Computer. My opinion was we should go for Word Processor, since the PC was so early stage that one cannot so easily use them. There were not much of software available.

I remember that I bought my first laptop PC in 1992. DOS base PC could run English and Japanese OS. All available were Word Perfect, Lotus Spread Sheet. When I needed to change language, I needed to reboot whole system. I used to enjoy buying software in US, since I was living in Japan that time.

Soon Windows became available and then Internet. It costed me US$1700 to get my PC Internet ready.

It did not take so long Internet became multi-media. Then web 1.0, 2.0, and 2.0...

I am remembering in some period, e-mail was most important for, say, 5 years. And next 5-6 years, web-browsing was more important. Then, e-mail got more powerful. Web-browsing was replaced by Blog-browsing.

People started to talk about Web3.0. What will be the next trend in the Internet Evolution?
