If the same 1000 hours are to be given, there are just 2 simple action patterns. Many will spend 999 hours for thinking and take action for just 1 hour. Instead, the people moving ahead and getting result from what they are doing is the people who will spend 9 hours for thinking and 1 hour to take action. They will repeat this process 100 times. So, successful people's time spent for actions is 100 times longer than other people.
I am not saying that actions are more important than thinking. Thinking is equally important. However, we should not forget that thinking is a process to make decisions about what action we should take. If not taking actions, thinking become meaningless. Action elements are really simple. 6 basics of input and output. Output are "Speak", "Write", "Move Things", and "We Move Ourselves" based on 2 base input from "Reading" and "Listening". It appears that people moving things ahead quickly making decisions on these basics and take actions. These are people who take input actions when they cannot decide on output actions. In case they run into situation they cannot deal with. They will analyze the situation and still take actions within their capacity. This way, they will not get stuck. Aren't you stuck in your thinking?

Hi Shaw .. good post .. interesting about the 2 types of action .. sometimes were comfortable with the information in front of us that we can proceed quickly to take action and make decisions to move on ..
other times we're stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea, and can't see the wood for the wood pile and then we think .. if it's what's called "thinking" .. I'd say it's mulling .. ie just going round and round & not really achieving anything ..
Thanks for your deinition .. and the differences between successful and not so successful people ..

Dear Hilary, Thank you for your visiting and comment. Mulling. Yes, it is mulling. But, when we find ourselves in a eternal circle of mulling, it may be worth trying to take actions, even imperfect actions. Thanks again.
